The Organizing Committee of VietTESOL International Convention 2018 is pleased to announce the invited speakers for VieTESOL Convention 2018 as follows.
Dr. Tin Dang is an EFL and TESOL lecturer at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Vietnam. He currently works as a dean of Faculty of Foreign Languages, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education. He previously worked for Vietnam National University HCMC, SEAMEO RETRAC, and PetroVietnam University. He has also been teaching postgraduate programs and supervising research students at HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities, HCMC Open University, HCMC University of Technology, Tra Vinh University, and Ba Ria-Vung Tau University.
David Kertzner founded ProActive English in 1997 to deliver English language training for professionals and vocational employees at domestic and global companies. He has delivered or managed training programs at major software companies in Silicon Valley, in addition to pharmaceuticals, technology and research companies throughout Asia.
Associate Professor Margaret Kettle teaches and researches in the area of second language education in the Faculty of Education at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Brisbane, Australia. Her teaching areas are the theory and practice of second language teaching and learning, and socio-linguistics in the Master of Education (TESOL) and research methods in the Doctor of Education course.
Dr Johanna Motteram is an experienced English language teacher and an English language assessment specialist based in Singapore. She collaborates with British Council colleagues in the region to deliver evidence-based programs to support English language learning and test preparation and provides advice on assessment related problems to schools and other stakeholders.
Del Spafford (MA TESOL; Dip.TESOL) is the regional teacher trainer and academic consultant for Macmillan Education. He has been working in ELT for over 20 years. His experience includes 11 years with the British Council in Thailand, where he has planned and delivered teacher professional development in a variety of contexts including both private and public schools. He is a passionate educator and publisher and thrives on integrating research-based methods and ideas into courses and supporting teachers to implement effective learning strategies in the classroom.
Dr. Duyen Tran is the Manager of the Language Education project and the Deputy Director of the Testing Center, Hanoi University of Industry, Vietnam. She has many years of experience working as an English teacher at her university. Her research areas include language teaching and assessment, teaching methodology, the employment of ICT in language education, and English for Special Purposes.
Philip Warwick has been involved in ELT for almost 30 years, working in South America, Asia and Europe as a teacher, teacher trainer and academic manager. He’s currently academic manager for a UK based summer school with centres in London, Brighton, Oxford, Cambridge and Canterbury and for an English project in Ilia State University in Tbilisi, Georgia. In between these commitments Phil works as a teacher trainer for Pearson English, and is never happier than when he can step back inside a classroom, which he does in his friend's language school in Brno as often as time allows.
