Description
This study's primary objective was to investigate the variety of available Artificial Intelligence (AI) writing tools and evaluate their impact on student writing, particularly in terms of content and grammar enhancement, as perceived by English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers. Using a qualitative methodology, a case study design was utilized to conduct research. The data was collected through semi-structured interviews, focusing on the variety of AI writing tools and their impact on the writing quality of students. The study collected data from four EFL teachers at FPT University's Hanoi Campus to shed light on the variety of AI writing tools utilized in their classrooms. Among these were Quillbot, WordTune, Jenni, ChatGPT, Grammarly, Copy.ai, and My Essay Writer. In addition, these teachers unanimously agreed that the AI writing tools improved the writing quality of their students, particularly the quality of their content and grammar enhancement. The results of this study suggest that incorporating AI writing tools can be advantageous for improving the writing of EFL students. In response to the limitations of this study, suggestions for future research were also provided.
