Description

Correcting students’ pronunciation is often considered a painstaking process for EFL teachers due to large classroom sizes and time limitations. In response to this challenge, this workshop aims to illustrate a successful model for using Reading Progress and Reading Coach in Microsoft Teams to advance students’ pronunciation. Based on data gathered from quantitative tests and surveys conducted with 30 participants at a public high school in Kon Tum Province, the findings demonstrate the effectiveness of these applications in enhancing students' pronunciation and fostering their self-directed learning. To provide attendees with actionable takeaways and a better understanding of Reading Progress and Reading Coach in Microsoft Teams, an actual classroom scenario will be created with step-by-step instructions. This will enable attendees to put themselves in students’ shoes to understand how Reading Progress and Reading Coach function within Microsoft Teams. This interactive session will be followed by discussions on how these tools can be adapted to meet the specific needs of different classrooms. Ultimately, these tools are expected to serve as valuable teaching assistants, saving time, enhancing productivity, and improving the learning experiences for both teachers and students.
