Today, learning English through digital technology and artificial intelligence platforms is no longer new in developed and developing countries around the world. With the remarkable advancement of technology, many English teaching and learning applications on phones or computers have been developed to improve learners' language skills anytime, anywhere. Therefore, this article will delve deeper into methods of teaching and learning communicative English through English learning applications on phones. The article consists of three parts: First, some benefits of using applications in teaching and learning English on phones are presented. Second, some strengths of today's English learning applications are introduced and analyzed. Finally, some solutions are proposed to bring English learning applications into the teaching and learning of English at tourism vocational training establishments to help language teachers gain a multi-dimensional view in choosing teaching methods on digital platforms and technology. At the same time, learners can be motivated to self-study in an independent way.
